I'm grateful to the editor of my neighborhood's magazine, Yvonne Leffler. She prints everything I give her regarding Joy Is Contagious...Cancer Isn't. She even asks if I have anything to contribute, primarily because each issue of Burningtree Living highlights a non-profit or volunteer, and a portion of all JICCI sales goes to The Rack Pack, a non-profit organization. This article appears in the March 2018 issue.
All Things Catholic Book Signing in Colorado Springs, CO
I didn't have a photographer on hand for our book signing at Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs, but thankful that contributing author Marge Wallace captured a few. Each person that stopped by our table was and is precious to me, even if their heads are chopped off in some of these images.
Thank you to Rachelle, Owner of all things Catholic, for agreeing to let Marge & Me hang out in her beautiful store for a couple of hours! If you're in the area, come see us!
Thank you to Decatur Daily's wendy Lang for attending the Decatur, AL book launch and for mentioning it in the paper plus the rack pack's recent contributions to our community!

Rack pack The Rack Pack Breast Cancer Support Group recently made donations to organizations that support and provide services to women with breast cancer. The organization donated $2,000 to the Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation and $10,000 to the Clearview Cancer Institute. In addition, they held a Fill the Pantry party at Clearview Cancer Institute this month to provide boxed and canned good food items for patients as well as Ensure and other food-related items that add protein and nourishment for their dietary needs.
Kim Tisor held a book signing last week at Burningtree Country Club for her new book “Joy is Contagious …Cancer Isn’t.” The room was filled to capacity as friends and family members gathered to hear excerpts from the book read by Tisor, Suzanne Horsley, Darlene Hutto, Amanda Graham, Julie McAbee, Courtney McCollum and Cindy Meadows. A percentage of the proceeds that evening went to the Rack Pack.

Book Launch January 18, 2018 Burningtree Country Club Decatur, AL
We had such a wonderful turnout for the JICCI book launch! Despite unseasonably cold temperatures and a near pandemic of cold and flu, people came to support the book's authors during what became a memorable night for those in attendance, or at least for those who contributed to the book. We liked it. Our photographer left early due to a family emergency, so there aren't many pictures of the signings, but I'll share here what I have, with more to come soon! Thank you for visiting!
Finding Joy: 12 Breast cancer survivors share faith-filled Journeys

Amid ultrasounds and biopsies, mastectomies and chemotherapy, bouts of nausea and hair loss, 12 breast cancer survivors found strength, joy and peace in their faith.
“I don’t know how people get through something like this without faith and Christ and without the people he surrounds you with,” Kim Tisor said. “This may sound strange, but more good has come out of having breast cancer. I live life more intentionally now and with a greater sense of purpose.”
Tisor, a Decatur resident, documented her story and the journeys of 11 other women in the book, “Joy Is Contagious …Cancer Isn’t: 12 Women Share how Faith Shaped Their Breast Cancer Journey.” Of the 12 women, seven have ties to north Alabama. (to read more go HERE)
DECATUR RESIDENT LAUNCHES BOOK ABOUT LOCAL BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS Just in time for National Cancer Prevention Month in February
DECATUR, AL (January 5, 2018) – Kim Tisor has a husband, three children, a radio show in Colorado…and breast cancer. She was diagnosed with the disease Nov. 4, 2016 and decided to share her story along with other breast cancer survivors’ tales of fear and triumph in her debut book Joy Is Contagious…Cancer Isn’t.
The book contains twelve individual stories from women - more than half of whom live in and around Decatur – who desired to inspire others with their journeys of faith, hope and joy. Many are members of The Rack Pack, a local breast cancer support group, that’s devoted to supporting cancer patients in Morgan County.
“Cancer isn’t necessarily a death sentence,” said Kim Tisor, the book’s main author. “It can actually serve as a new-lease-on-life sentence, helping you to live more intentionally and with a greater sense of purpose.”
A book launch to celebrate both the book’s release and the women who’ve contributed their stories is scheduled for Thursday, January 18th, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Burningtree Country Club in Decatur. All are welcome to meet the authors and hear them share their favorite excerpts from the book. Profits from the sale of each book go to support The Rack Pack, an IRS recognized 501(c)3 charitable organization founded by local breast cancer survivors. # # #
