Taking the Pink Ribbon Plunge

10/14/2017

Earlier this week in my post Embracing the Pink I confessed I was about to purchase my first article of pink ribbon clothing. A t-shirt. I really liked the picture of the one in my post, but when I was ready to spend I somehow found myself on a different website...with good deals...and I went a little nutso.

So, I found a shirt. Bowling anyone?

Then, there was this comfy, cozy jacket. I like to have a jacket with me at all times because I never know when I'm going to find myself at the grocery store where I'm guessing polar bears like to shop. It's always so cold there!

Now I couldn’t resist this cute ball cap, even though I never wear hats. I’d wear hats more often if it weren’t for my bouffant hair. It’s not that I prefer bouffant hair – or as my kids call it, “fluffy hair” - but mine is naturally fuzzy (not curly) and so I must curl it to smooth and soften the texture which makes it a little big and not ideal for hats.  (Envision Bozo hair flipping out from underneath the cap.) I could straighten it but since my hair is falling out and breaking off I don’t like to do that too often.

Now I thought these shoes. boots. house shoes? Were adorable. I’m not a very fashionable or trendy person, so I really don’t know what these are, but since I’ve seen women out in public with similar foot coverings I decided to wear these last night while picking up pizza. I think I should have worn pajamas to complete the ensemble.

Don't know why I wore these across dew-covered grass. But aren't they cute?
Lastly, here’s my daughter Rachael who took pictures of me and silly selfies of herself while I was trying to tame my hair. She's smart, funny, absolutely delightful.

So there you have it. I purchased all of these items from The Breast Cancer Site. They claim that each purchase helps fund mammograms and research. I hope that’s true because I couldn’t find additional details regarding it.

Consider me a walking billboard now for breast cancer research and awareness. What better way to spark conversation about my experiences since I can’t go around topless?

Hope you have a joy-filled day.

You just need a pink convertible, then you really could go around 'topless' lol :)

Ha, ha, lol!!! Great idea, Kristen! Can you get a pink convertible if you don't sell Mary Kay? :-)

I love it all! I have seen several things on that website that I liked, but never ordered. Now that I know someone that has ordered I probably will.

Darlene, I was pretty impressed w/the quality and the items arrived within a few days. I'd say the boots (?) run a hair small. I wear 7.5 - 8 and ordered 8s. The right one barely fits (my right foot is larger).

Funny that the title "Author" appears above this description yet I have no idea what to share about myself in this space! How about my first name is Kim. My last name is Tisor. Tisor rhymes with miser, though I try not to be one.

Working in Christian radio earns me a little spending money so I'm less miserly and fulfills my desire to uplift others who are walking (or limping along) this sometimes arduous road we all call "life."

What can you expect from this blog? Well, I'm not exactly sure. I think I'll include faith-related content and posts about joy discovered while on  my cancer journey. I may share cancer-related news and as a wife and mom I'm fairly certain observations pertaining to family life will seep in here on occasion.

As you visit, remember that Tamoxifen Brain is a real thing and I'm convinced I have it. So, if something I write doesn't make sense, feel free to laugh at me.  I won't know any better and laughter is good medicine, especially when it's at someone else's expense. That's a joke.
